Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down is an episode of the TV series, Battlestar Galactica, and aired during the show's first season.

PlotEdit

Dr. Gaius Baltar has finished his Cylon detector. President Laura Roslin tries to convince Commander Adama he should be the first to be tested. Since the Conroy copy told her Adama is a Cylon, she is getting more and more suspicious. She sends Billy Keikeya to ask Anastasia Dualla about his behavior, who obtains information during a date on the observation deck. When a Cylon raider appears behaving strangely, Adama is missing; raising more eyebrows. He returns however with Ellen Tigh, the presumed dead wife of Colonel Saul Tigh, who seemingly appeared from nowhere. She claims she lost consciousness during the Cylon attack and was cared for on the Rising Star. The question is, 'Is she a Cylon?' Back on Caprica, Helo notices that the Centurions are behaving differently. Sharon tells him that they are after her.

Further notes Edit

  • Jeff Vlaming came up with two titles for the episode, with the competing title being "Secrets and Lies". Ronald D. Moore liked the pun in "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down" and picked that title.[1]
  • The episode was originally planned as a riff on Crimson Tide, with Commander Adama and Colonel Tigh at each other's throats due to the rampant suspicion across the Fleet that anyone could be a Cylon. When it was decided the episode should be more light-hearted, the tense situation was written out.[1]
