Terra is a significant location in the original series. It is a colony world of the Thirteenth Tribe. It is politically similar to the Cold War situation of the real-life Earth. The world is not as technologically advanced as the Twelve Colonies, but is much more advanced than Earth. It is capable of space travel, but not star travel, and has many daughter colonies in its own solar system.
