(Battlestar Galactica 2004, Caprica and Blood & Chrome)
The "Rebel Basestar" was a Cylon Basestar which allied with the Colonial Fleet during the Cylon Civil War.
History[]
This Basestar was the centre of a Cylon uprising where Two, Six and Eight model Cylons and sentient Centurions wiped out the Ones, Fours and Fives, who were in support of lobotomising Raiders[1]. The ship rendezvoused with several others which were successfully hijacked for mutual defense. Soon after, a fleet led by Ones, Fours and Fives who had cleansed their rebel compliment launched a massive attack. This basestar was the sole survivor of that ambush, taking refuge in Gas Giant, though was heavily damaged and its Raider compliment lost[2]. A Two was able to make contact with the Colonial Fleet in a damaged Heavy Raider, leading to a truce between the rebels and humanity. The Rebel Basestar soon after led a combined assault on enemy Cylon forces at the Battle of the Hub[3].
In the aftermath of the battle, the Rebel Basestar officially claimed asylum and joined The Fleet, joining them in their search for Earth. Following the Battle of the Colony, the humanoid models abandoned it in favour of settling on another planet, with the Centurions placed in complete control of its functions to pursue their own destiny.
