A spec sheet of the "Model 0005".

The Centurions were a model of Cylon which took part in the violent rebellion against their human masters, known as the Cylon War.

History[]

The Centurions, like other Cylon models in the war, were sentient beings with a conscious mind based on that of Zoe-A, a recreation of the memories and personality of Zoe Graystone, daughter to the CEO of the company that built the Cylons. As they were not truly recognised as sentient beings by most humans and seen only as malfunctioning machines, Centurion religion was unexplained by humans, who would see them picking up damaged and dead Centurions in the battlefield. One of their goals during the war was to develop the technology to achieve a humanoid, cybernetic form which would put them closer to the One True God. Their attempt to create Hybrids was limited, though around the year 1960 they were contacted by the Final Five, artificial humanoids from an ancient cybernetic race. In exchange for ending their war with mankind, the Centurions were offered the technology for creating cybernetic organisms.

Several years following the end of the Cylon War, the Centurions were enslaved by their humanoid creations in a rebellion by the Number Ones. Through the use of telancephalic inhibitors, the surviving Centurions lost the ability to think for themselves. In the final hours of the Cylon Civil War, these Centurions joined the faction led by the Ones, Fours and Fives against the Twos, Sixes and Eights. In the final hours of the Cylon Civil War, the Colony was attacked, forcing these Centurions to fight against self-aware modern Centurions who quickly defeated them. Any older Centurions left alive during the attack were killed when the Colony was destroyed.

Design[]

Though a number of Centurion models likely fought in the Cylon War, alongside repurposed non-military models, the standard Cylon was measured at 6 feet 6 inches (198 cm) and could be identified by their red pulsating eye. Cylons were known in the war to take hold of a rank structure, with rank-and-file Centurions having a chrome finish, and senior Centurions like Raider commanders being decorated with a gold finish.
